Skylanders Spyro's Adventure

The Portal Masters and the Skylanders protect the realm of Skylands from darkness. Master Eon guarded the Core of Light, which repelled The Darkness. However, Kaos, a Dark Portal Master, returned from his banishment to the Outlands and attacked. He unleashed a mysterious creature that destroyed the Core, rendering Eon a spirit. The Skylanders, including Spyro, were banished from their world to Earth, where they were turned into a toy-like state as a result of it lacking magic. The player, a new Portal Master, sends them back to Skylands using the Portal of Power.

To restore the Core of Light, the Skylanders must bring back the Eternal Source of each of the eight elements, which power the Core, as well as corresponding artifacts which make up the Core's form and inner workings. Under guidance from Eon throughout the journey, it is repaired despite multiple efforts by Kaos to halt them. He and his assistant Glumshanks retreat to the Outlands, Skylands' most desolate area. The Skylanders journey to Kaos' Fortress for the final battle against him, his dark Skylanders and the Hydra, who was responsible for the Core of Light's destruction.

Kaos is ultimately defeated, and Eon informs him that he is not being rebanished to the Outlands, but instead to Earth. Kaos is ejected to there, where he becomes a frozen figure like the Skylanders were.
